HISTORY

Richard P. Andrews was born September 11, 1948 in Manhattan, New York.  Committed to a lifetime of service, Richard proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 22 years, both as an enlisted Airman and later as an aircraft maintenance officer.  Following his retirement from the Air Force he extended his love for the military and for serving his community as a Junior ROTC instructor at Sumter High School.  For over 20 years he devoted himself to more than 3,000 students teaching them invaluable lessons about life and leadership.

Those lessons were transformational and key to their development as doctors, lawyers, officers and enlisted military members, entrepreneurs, professionals, mentors, leaders, authors, educators, dreamers, thinkers, and everything else in between.

In 2021, following his passing, a team of his students founded the Captain Richard P. Andrews Leadership Society to honor his memory and ensure his legacy continued.
